Brown & Sharpe Measuring Tools
When it comes to machinist's tools, three companies stand out as legends in the field. Moore & Wright of Sheffield and Starrett and Brown & Sharpe of New England. All three of these companies produce superb quality tools. We represent Brown & Sharpe & Starrett. While Brown & Sharpe tools are made for machinist's, as many woodworkers buy them as machinists. Woodworkers value the high precision of these tools, as well as the flexibility of the combination square design. One combination square can do many different measurements. This is one of the classic designs of "Yankee engenuity" that defined the "Age of Invention." Brown & Sharpe can trace there lineage directly back to Darling, Brown, & Sharpe, thus making them the oldest surviving precision machine tool company in this country.
