FrameCo Picture Framing Tools
FrameCo is an Australian manufacturer which specializes in framing tools for the home frame shop and small framing businesses. Their products provide innovative and cost effective solutions to common framing tasks.
Cutting two lengths of picture frame molding to exactly the same length is the most challenging aspect of making a frame. The FrameCo Ezy Measuring System is intended to simplify this process.
To begin, simply slide the molding along the scale to the desired length, set the stop, and cut the first miter. The measuring stop on the system enables you to cut the next side to exactly the same length. The table will attach to most hand and electric powered drop saws, including the Nobex hand miter saws that we offer. The legs may need wood blocks to raise them higher for some power or larger hand saw models. The legs are the proper height, without blocks, for the Nobex Proman model miter saw.
The scale on the FrameCo system is based upon a "direct measuring scale" as is used on most professional saws and guillotines. The difference between the FrameCo "direct" scale and the Nobex "indirect" scale is that the FrameCo system requires no calculation. With an indirect system the user has to add in the width of the moulding when setting the stop. The FrameCo system also includes a scale which provides you with the correct angle for cutting frames. Unique to FrameCo and not possible on any other system

Clamping Frames for final assembly requires a good clamping system. The Classic Stanley #400 Clamp is probably still the best solution for clamping a single corner, but to clamp an entire frame at one time, we think that the FrameCo strap clamp is the most practical solution. The FrameCo strap clamp utilized a steel strap, and can be tightened as tight as would ever be reasonably required. The capacity of the FrameCo clamp is 5 meters, or 16 feet, circumference. That is certainly large enough to deal with any frames that we ever deal with, but FrameCo also makes a 9 meter, 27 foot, strap, for truly gigantic frames.
